Then I will blow the bridge up and tell my men to dig-in and hold out until it is their turn to go. the others and use my planes to burn the entire forest down. However if I am covering civilians/other forces, then I will use a marine deck. Mechanized decks are surely good but it lacks the amount of heavy tank you need to hold the line so if it is a survival situation I will bring tanks. If you are reliant on infantry then I can expect that a massive horde tearing your men apart and soon you will know that you are just creating more zombies. Maybe more J-5s or F-4s for dumping napalm? Then I will blow the bridge up and focus on defending the plains (and the burnt forest).Īs for the other decks, the airborne deck is too reliant on infantry, the same goes for the motorized/marine deck. The air wing will clearly specialized in bombing and ground attack. To be exact I will bring an armor deck with napalm launcher since setting the area on fire can stall the undead and clear the forest. Remember the zombies' "weapon" (teeth) cannot bite through armor so i would use my armor deck. Now you said we are defending a 4sq kilometer peninsula, so are we defending an evacuation point/refugee centre? If not I will use tanks against them. I was playing a match and another player had that unit playing. So I was looking to build a deck with it. I saw that Canada has a unit called Recce or close to that. let's say i disagree with the assumption(since I think "fast" zombies are more "realistic") but ok let's see. I was looking in the armory to take a look at 'ALL' the units you can get. ![]() ![]() Many vehicles can be amphibious, from transport and light armored vehicles to even supply vehicles.Err. Didn't intend this to be a Wargame Red Dragon tutorial, just a few tips to. With this deck you can do very well in urban areas due. Amphibious vehicles: Although impracticable in maritime combat, amphibious vehicles are still able to cross (but more slowly) bodies of water separating them from their objective. With a lot of people picking up the game recently I thought I'd put this together. Wargame Red Dragon - Royal Marines DeckHey guys, In this deck guide Im showing my Royal Marines deck.Landing craft can transport squads of infantry and heavier equipment such as armored vehicles, but in lower numbers. Landing craft: As their name indicates, you can use landing craft to deploy troops from the sea if the shore is suitable for this type of maneuver. Those troops are made up of all those you can find in a Marine deck (infantry & transport, tanks, support troops, …), plus some Army units. Once a naval reinforcement zone is controlled by one side, he might bring in more troops to land them and open a new front on the beachhead. The bulk of the naval support troops are landing troops. Their role is to bring the fight to the enemy vessels without risking your own in firing range. SCANDINAVIA: Sweden + Denmark + Norway (Not yet updated from ALB, free DLC will cover this) EUROCORPS: France + W-Germany. Patrol craft: Patrol craft are vessels with a very low tonnage, smaller than corvettes, and with a very shallow draft that allows them to use waterways that would be impassable for larger vessels.Īnti-ship planes and helicopters are dedicated ship killers, armed with powerful missiles able to inflict crippling damages to the most powerful ships. These are the BLUFOR or Blue Force (NATO is no longer the right term, because of Japan and South Korea) Coalitions in RD: COMMONWEALTH: UK + ANZAC + Canada. They mainly perform an anti-air role and are bristling with anti-air missiles and an array of guns that can intercept enemy air-sea missiles in mid-air. Corvettes: Corvettes are fast, maneuverable vessels with a lower tonnage than frigates, generally deployed to defend more substantial buildings and structures. The Micro Deck Format focuses on restricting cards in any given deck to create an alternate way to play the Wargame: Red Dragon, lets get started.Reasonably fast and well armored, frigates form the spearhead of any naval force. Frigates: Frigates are medium-sized warships that perform numerous functions similar to multirole fighters: maritime reconnaissance, defense against enemy fleets/anti-surface warfare and anti-air defense.Their multiple cannons have a rapid firing rate that can pierce the armor plating of any hull and sink any ship. Destroyers: Destroyers are large heavily armored, they are designed chiefly to attack enemy fleets.Ships are of various sizes and firepower, some specialized in air defence, some in ground support, … to secure and cap naval reinforcement zones and bring in the assault barge.

John Uberti, deputy commander of III Corps, wrote in his investigation endorsement. “FORSCOM and III Corps recently conducted extensive inspections into issues related to driver’s training,” Maj. The investigation also recommended a review of all driver qualifications on Fort Hood, and it called for restrictions on anyone whose qualifications are incomplete. The recommendations included fixing that driver course to include local hazard training. “Regardless of whether the formal driver’s training program would have prevented the incident, such oversights contributed to an apathetic safety mentality in the Company,” the investigator added. In James’ case, the investigator wrote, she showed up at the company fresh out of 88M advanced individual training and had limited on-the-job experience. There is local hazard training, but it is a glitchy online course, and soldiers are supposed to print out their certificates themselves, the report found. The report also found that F Forward Support Company didn’t have a formal driver’s training program consistent with Army regulations, or one that trained specifically on that company’s vehicles and on the hazards particular to Fort Hood. “The benefit gained by inexperienced drivers from traveling that limited distance was far outweighed by the risks it created,” the investigator wrote. Further, the report found, the staff sergeant ordered James to drive the 1.4 km stretch of tank trail to help with familiarization. Witnesses told the investigator that Colon-Vasquez selected her to drive precisely because she needed the practice, but that she wasn’t certified for it. ![]() The investigator then took aim at vehicle driver training, citing James’ inexperience as another reason for the accident. In this case, the LMTV drove into seven feet of water, despite only being able to withstand 30 inches, the report said. The report was set to red on the day of the accident.įort Hood should also implement a tactical marking system for early flood warnings, so that soldiers in vehicles would know as they pulled up to a crossing that the water is already too high. The center also was asked to clarify the low-water crossing report’s color-coding system, so that everyone is clear on the definitions of “closed,” “red,” “amber” and “green.” The investigator also recommended that the installation operations center make sure all subordinate units acknowledge severe weather procedures. The first recommendation was for the installation operations center to make sure that when low-water crossing reports go out, they are distributed to all subordinate commands, and those commands confirm receipt up the chain. Though Colon-Vasquez was ultimately blamed for the accident, the investigation into the soldiers’ deaths found a list of shortfalls at Fort Hood, III Corps and down to the unit level.Īs a result, the investigator included several recommendations to “mitigate risks in the future,” the investigator wrote in the report. The other four were found the next afternoon. Just before 3 p.m., a crew found the empty LMTV, and later the bodies of five of its occupants. Three were rescued by soldiers in a vehicle following the LMTV, officials said.Įmergency crews from both the Army and surrounding first-responder agencies were on the scene over the next several hours. “Debris were moving faster than a man could run,” one soldier, whose named was redacted, said in a statement. ![]() Soldiers who watched in horror from the other vehicles described seeing waves, rapids and white caps as they prepared to cross the creek. ![]() “Due to flash flooding at Fort Hood, the powerful current at Owl Creek caused their LMTV to immediately wash downstream, overturn, and submerge,” the investigator wrote. Licensed under the Apache License, Version 2.0 (the "License") I’m not going to name names, but some books are outright works of fiction, while others suffer from something that’s called the Woozle effect. The history about Vienna Lager, as communicated in many works in the general beer history and craft beer sphere, has not been of great quality up to now. And that’s not my reason why I decided to write about historic, extinct German beers or Vienna Lager in the first place: instead, I wanted to let everyone know about everything I’ve been able to find out about these beer styles. Ultimately, we have to face the hard truth: there is not a whole lot of money to be made as an author in a niche topic such as beer history and home-brewing. I think this is fair, as I’m happy with the individual royalties that I earn, while being able to keep the costs down for interested readers. For every book sold, I roughly get the same amount of royalties, no matter which media. As for the print-of-demand book, I had to slightly increase the price to offset the increased printing costs. While “Vienna Lager” is more extensive compared to my previous book, I deliberately decided to keep the price for the e-book the same. You can find more information about the book including links to Amazon on .Īs with my previous book, I tried to keep the price moderate to make it affordable for everyone. So today, I’m releasing the book both as printed book and e-book, exclusively on Amazon. I have previously discussed elements of this here in my blog, but in this book, I can finally present all the sources that corroborate even the tiniest detail about historic Vienna Lager brewing. ![]() ![]() And third, I could reconstruct how Vienna Lager was brewed, from the ingredients to the brewing process, fermentation and lagering. My research very quickly showed that it wasn’t Mexico that was big in brewing Vienna Lager, it was the United States! This is something many will be surprised about, but Vienna Lager was a fairly popular style in the US, and even survived Prohibition to a certain extent, until it made it into the canon of classic beer style as we know it nowadays. Second, I was able to shed more light on the supposed survival of Vienna Lager in Mexico. I achieved everything I wanted to achieve in this book: first, I managed to put together the history of Vienna Lager in Austria from its very beginning in the late 1830’s until its demise after World War I in great detail, all embedded in the history of its inventor, Anton Dreher, and his brewery in Klein-Schwechat near Vienna. I consider this to be my greatest work so far, and I’m absolutely proud about the result. ![]() 3rd Parties are solely responsible for their respective functionality. What's cool is how Erebus and Antioch play into dungeons and exploration. Using a device called a Prayer Wheel, which Łojewski likens to jacking into The Matrix, players are teleported from the underground to a beautiful spirit world full of lush forests and open sky. What's a little unexpected, though, is that Antioch is overlapped by a parallel dimension called Erebus that players can freely jump between at certain points in the world. Perhaps the most JRPG thing about the story is that the character is a religious knight for a church that rules over the underground city of Antioch. The whole game is set in an underground city full of people that have no idea what the outside world is like. And while it's hard to get a sense of SacriFire's story from just an interview, I am very intrigued by its premise. Two worldsĬombat is only one side of the JRPG coin, though. That all sounds cool, but I feel a little silly that what really excites me is that SacriFire won't have random battle encounters like the early Final Fantasy games, and combat won't be a way to pad out the main story by jamming a few hundred battles in between major story beats. "But if you're in a boss fight with a lot of difficulty, you'll need to be thinking about what body parts should I damage, what should I break, what weapons should I have on me?" That system is present here, too, though it's something that's more prominent in boss battles. Punch a boss in the head enough, and you might blind them temporarily for example. One of my favorite features of Vagrant Story's combat is being able to target certain body parts on enemies to inflict certain status effects. You'll need to be thinking about what body parts should I damage, what should I break, what weapons should I have on me? Bartosz Łojewski You always have to keep in mind what enemy you are facing, what weapons and skills you have, and you have to tailor that to the enemy you're fighting." "You cannot really spam the same attack mindlessly. "Every encounter is different in that way," Łojewski tells me. SacriFire has a system where you string different attacks together to create powerful combos specifically tailored for each enemy and its unique weaknesses. ![]() What's unique though is that you're not just going to be spamming the same few attacks again and again like in most JRPGs. The main character doesn't fight with conventional weapons, but has something called a Divos gauntlet that basically materializes a bunch of different weapon types that each have their own strengths and weaknesses. Like Vagrant Story, the trick is to exploit enemy weaknesses against certain elements and damage types. Instead of locking the player into one playstyle, the combat system is designed to reward players for being adaptable and thinking strategically. This is where Vagrant Story's influence is the strongest. |
